Ulrich Brugger’s writing is grounded in close attention to the inner life and to the ways human beings learn, relate, and perceive. Across his work, he returns to questions of awareness, education, and the possibility of living with greater intelligence and freedom.
With a thoughtful, literary voice, his books speak to readers interested in consciousness, meditative inquiry, and the educational insights associated with Krishnamurti. The aim is not persuasion, but careful observation and meaningful reflection.
Ulrich Brugger holds an M.A. in the sciences of education from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. In addition to his formal education, he has studied world religions, philosophy, psychology, and contemporary spiritual teachings. He has been a lifelong seeker of truth. His recent book, Eternally New, reflects his lifelong inquiries and personal insights. His first book, A New Approach to Learning and Living, was recognized as one of the best books in the field of education by the Indian State Library in 1985. A second edition of this book was published by Amazon Publishers Online in 2025. Ulrich Brugger lives in Ojai, California, where he founded The Ojai Retreat in 1991 and has been its director since its inception.
